Look Who's One

Ceirnan Ray McGinnis was born on November 30th, 2009. She has grown so much over the last year and we are so proud of her. She's been through a lot and yet she is growing and thriving. She's so smart. She is walking all around the house and can say Mama, Daddy, and BraBra (brother). She has even started climbing onto things. She's excited and we are thrilled for her too. She laughs a lot. She claps her hands. She loves to dance. She is a girly-girl through and through right now. She will pick something with flowers or ruffles whenever she gets a chance. She loves her baby doll and her stuffed duck, Quackers. Most of all she loves her brother and spends most her days right on his heals. She has brought much joy to our lives and we are so grateful to have her. She is one determined little girl. For those of you who are wondering, her arm and her hand are okay. She still doesn't have full use of her hand, but she compensates well. She can pick things up with it and she usually waves with that hand as well. Her arm has healed nicely and I'm sure she'll be happy that Dr. Chang did such a good job on it. She remains a smiling, happy, smart, and beautiful child.
Above are some pictures of her birthday parties. She had one with just us on her birthday and another one the following Saturday with our dearest friends. CJ helped Mama prepare both of them, going shopping, decorating, and even cleaning up all his toys. He also decided he needed a wish on Ceirnan's birthday as you see from the picture. Ceirnan laughed through it all, put on a bit of a dance recital for our friends, and enjoyed eating all of that cake. It was a week I will never forget. Our little girl is growing up faster than we want, but none-the-less we are so amazed by her.

I can't express how much I wish we lived closer. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I can't help but I can't help but picture our kids playing in the yard while we sit and talk. I miss you, and think your kids are adorable, even if I'm on the other side of the country. :)

Hello from Philly

Hello and Happy Holidays from the City of Brotherly Love! Its almost New Year's resolution time and one of mine is to maintain a blog for all our of friends and family who don't get to see our little guy on a daily basis (and for those of you that do too). CJ is ready for Christmas- although Santa is not his favorite as you can see. I'm not sure who is worse at peeking at packages though, CJ or Casey. We were too excited to wait so we've had a Christmas tree up since the weekend after Thanksgiving. We kept the unbreakable ornaments on the lower part of the tree, which has been good since he likes to take them off and throw them to his daddy. He's so smart and observant. I'm just amazed by him. He loves to learn and seems (to me) to be very mechanically minded since he can unscrew or take apart anything you put in front of him. He has an infectious grin and a laugh that reminds you what living is about. He likes to talk all time and he LOVES to dance. He's ju...

Update

No major news to update. We're all on pins and needles waiting for the baby to arrive. At this point, it looks like we will definitely have a little one sometime next week if not earlier. Today is my last day of work. I'm definitely ready as I am starting to need more rest and am feeling some major shifting in the baby. Last night Pop Pop arrived though so it definitely brought some excitement to the house. CJ was showered with gifts from Aunt Cherie and Aunt CeCe, which he has been certain to remind us are the gifts for big brothers! He is getting excited at the thought that the baby is coming home soon. Of course, he's even more excited that Pop Pop is here for a long time and that his Nana and Grandma will be out soon too. We will try to keep you all updated when things start progressing. Just wish us luck!

Spring

Newest update. We're all upside. No, things are going okay. Casey and CJ seem to be doing well together. They are quite the little travelers and come out on the train twice a week to meet Mommy. CJ is missing his Grandma Dee and his Uncle Johnny though. When he gets in the care he often goes Dee...Dee...Dee... Hopefully, we'll head over there this weekend. The picture was taken by Laurie at Grandma Dee's house. He is doing great though. He's talking a lot more and he loves to dance. He's got some great moves too. I'll try to catch some thing weekend and post the pictures. He loves Sesame Street and will give you the evil eye if you interrupt him. What else? Mommy is madly trying to finish up her semester and is dreading summer classes. However, she is quite excited that she will be finished in December. CJ is too. He's taken to being really mad at Mommy being gone during the day. It seems like it made sense that both Mama and Daddy were gon...
