Philly Boy

Here is our Philly boy the night we took him to his concert. He was telling us all about the people walking by as we ate a quick snack at a local pub. He was being a bit bossy insistant that we soak up the sounds and people as quickly as he did. He was not impressed with our apathy and definitely reminded Mama to look around and enjoy the atmosphere. While I am certain he will enjoy the backyard, I think he too will receive quite a culture shock when we arrive in good old Newark later this month. Currently he is running through the house shouting box as the continue to pile up. It is amazing how much we have just donated though. We're ruthless and I think he is concerned that his toys will go out as he has been hiding a toy here and there as we pack. He just made a good friend across the street and I'm sure he'll miss hanging out with her, but I think he already met a new little girl whose father works at the University.

Last night we went to Old City to grab a bite with Casey's cousin Clark and parked in a parking garage. CJ was convinced we were heading out on the airplane and was quiet disappointed when he realized all we did was park. He perked up though when we got the restaurant and the bartender made him his own special drink. Yes, our son is quite the little citydweller. He has been to almost all of the Stephen Starr restaurants in town and has no problem mixing in with the "it" crowd. Last night we were given the entire back dining room for a long dinner and CJ played for a bit and then layed on the Morrocan pillows and fell asleep. I think the waiter was quite relieved. (Don't get me wrong, CJ also accidentally spilled water all over Daddy's lap earlier). Well that has been our big adventure for this week. Saturday we're going down the shore so I'll try to update you all on Monday.

Hello from Philly

Hello and Happy Holidays from the City of Brotherly Love! Its almost New Year's resolution time and one of mine is to maintain a blog for all our of friends and family who don't get to see our little guy on a daily basis (and for those of you that do too). CJ is ready for Christmas- although Santa is not his favorite as you can see. I'm not sure who is worse at peeking at packages though, CJ or Casey. We were too excited to wait so we've had a Christmas tree up since the weekend after Thanksgiving. We kept the unbreakable ornaments on the lower part of the tree, which has been good since he likes to take them off and throw them to his daddy. He's so smart and observant. I'm just amazed by him. He loves to learn and seems (to me) to be very mechanically minded since he can unscrew or take apart anything you put in front of him. He has an infectious grin and a laugh that reminds you what living is about. He likes to talk all time and he LOVES to dance. He's ju...

Mystic, CT

We had a great time in Mystic, CT last weekend for Father's Day. We spent Saturday at the Mystic Seaport, a little reanactment community right on the water. We even got to see a replica of the Amistad (the original was either scrapped or sunk). That part was neat, but very sad to see the conditions those men endured. CJ loved the water and kept trying to walk onto all the boats he saw (even the yachts that had just docked for lunch). He really enjoyed driving the ship. We then had lunch at a great little inn right on the water- Seaman's Inn. It was wonderful. On Sunday we went to Mystic Aquarium. CJ really loved it. His favorite was the buluga whales as you can see from the picture. He laughed and oohed and ahhed. It was a great weekend. Now we are just gearing up for our trip to Kansas City and for his birthday in a few weeks. Daddy is going on a guy's camp weekend next weekend with Uncle Sami so CJ and I are planning a trip to the zoo. We'll put up more pics then.

Big Kids

Ceirnan in her favorite outfit outside the ballet studio- leotard and overalls.  Someone is all ready to head off to Stephens.    CJ looking cool for school.  Ceirnan, who believes jutting your hip out is the coolest thing ever. Where did my babies go?  It's so hard to believe how big they are and how much they have grown in the last year.  Ceirnan is sprouting like a weed and towers over most her own age.  CJ doesn't have the height, but he is about the most mature young man I've ever met.  They are both so bright and excited to learn.  It makes me so happy seeing them together.  Typically, they share, they are polite to each other and they never make it through the day without at least two or three hugs and kisses for each other.  It makes my heart melt to see how much they truly enjoy spending time together.  Do not get me wrong- Ceirnan is too bossy for CJ and one of CJ's favorite phrases (which we h...
