Hello from Philly


Hello and Happy Holidays from the City of Brotherly Love!


Its almost New Year's resolution time and one of mine is to maintain a blog for all our of friends and family who don't get to see our little guy on a daily basis (and for those of you that do too).

CJ is ready for Christmas- although Santa is not his favorite as you can see. I'm not sure who is worse at peeking at packages though, CJ or Casey. We were too excited to wait so we've had a Christmas tree up since the weekend after Thanksgiving. We kept the unbreakable ornaments on the lower part of the tree, which has been good since he likes to take them off and throw them to his daddy.

He's so smart and observant. I'm just amazed by him. He loves to learn and seems (to me) to be very mechanically minded since he can unscrew or take apart anything you put in front of him. He has an infectious grin and a laugh that reminds you what living is about. He likes to talk all time and he LOVES to dance. He's just gotten so big. I don't know how the time has passed so quickly.

We're heading to Kansas City in a few days to see the family so I'll be sure to post more after Santa arrives if not sooner.

Courtney sure has a way of making little CJ sound so Angelic. The truth is - he's a very normal toddler, getting into and touching just about everything he could get his little hands on. Cordless phones and remote controls are two of his personal favorites. But the list goes on. Inspite of his inquisitive nature, he is a pleasant little boy to have around. He's always smiling and loves to laugh. Another thing his mother forgot to mention is that this tiny tot loves to eat. He can eat as much as two grown men. God knows where he puts it all. Note to CJ's Missouri based family: you'll want to clear the room when it's time for the diaper changes. The next time any of you are in the Philly area, don't forget to stop to see CJ's Godfather and fill-in Grandma.

Well, the truth of the matter is he IS perfect. Not that I'm remotely biased.

It was so nice to see Courtney, Casey and above all CJ. He is adorable. He had so much fun and of course was adored by all.

Maybe the highlight of Christmas day was that one big guy wearing the flap one-piece red pj's!!!

Hope you had a good trip back.

Update

No major news to update. We're all on pins and needles waiting for the baby to arrive. At this point, it looks like we will definitely have a little one sometime next week if not earlier. Today is my last day of work. I'm definitely ready as I am starting to need more rest and am feeling some major shifting in the baby. Last night Pop Pop arrived though so it definitely brought some excitement to the house. CJ was showered with gifts from Aunt Cherie and Aunt CeCe, which he has been certain to remind us are the gifts for big brothers! He is getting excited at the thought that the baby is coming home soon. Of course, he's even more excited that Pop Pop is here for a long time and that his Nana and Grandma will be out soon too. We will try to keep you all updated when things start progressing. Just wish us luck!

Spring

Newest update. We're all upside. No, things are going okay. Casey and CJ seem to be doing well together. They are quite the little travelers and come out on the train twice a week to meet Mommy. CJ is missing his Grandma Dee and his Uncle Johnny though. When he gets in the care he often goes Dee...Dee...Dee... Hopefully, we'll head over there this weekend. The picture was taken by Laurie at Grandma Dee's house. He is doing great though. He's talking a lot more and he loves to dance. He's got some great moves too. I'll try to catch some thing weekend and post the pictures. He loves Sesame Street and will give you the evil eye if you interrupt him. What else? Mommy is madly trying to finish up her semester and is dreading summer classes. However, she is quite excited that she will be finished in December. CJ is too. He's taken to being really mad at Mommy being gone during the day. It seems like it made sense that both Mama and Daddy were gon...
