Wow! Is Mama really managing to update this two weeks in a row? CJ is doing well. We're hoping we've reached the end of sick season--although I'm not holding my breath. He's a little rascal and is certain he is already grown. The picture shows how much he enjoys climibing into everything. He's like his Mama at that age and will climb to the top of whatever he can. He also has figured out the concept of stacking things so that he can climb higher. This week it seems his vocabulary is starting to really blossom. His current favorite words are hot, yellow, green, and baby. He is still an extremely sensitive little guy and loves to kiss his stuff animals, his family, and occasionally himself in the mirror. His newest thing is to take his babydoll for a diaper change and bring over the lotion and diapers for Mama to fix that babydoll up. Last night we introduced him to Annie the musical and he did not move except to dance until the very end. He also got quite upset when Daddy switched the channel. You should see this kid tap dance. He's a natural. I'm sure there is plenty more to say, but I'll save it for another day. We hope everyone is well.

Hello from Philly

Hello and Happy Holidays from the City of Brotherly Love! Its almost New Year's resolution time and one of mine is to maintain a blog for all our of friends and family who don't get to see our little guy on a daily basis (and for those of you that do too). CJ is ready for Christmas- although Santa is not his favorite as you can see. I'm not sure who is worse at peeking at packages though, CJ or Casey. We were too excited to wait so we've had a Christmas tree up since the weekend after Thanksgiving. We kept the unbreakable ornaments on the lower part of the tree, which has been good since he likes to take them off and throw them to his daddy. He's so smart and observant. I'm just amazed by him. Getting Ready for Baby

What a difference getting ready for a second baby is compared to the first. With CJ, we had things bought, washed, and put away 3-4 months before he was set to arrive. We had the nursery together and way too many things we would find out we really didn't need. This time around we're in week 37 and we just realized that I really could deliver any day now so we probably should at least pull out the car seat. We're not going with a crib as we tend to be co-sleepers plus there is not a lot of room in our bedroom. We got out the pack-n-play and added the bassinet function. It might get more use than with CJ who always slept with us just due to the fact that I expect CJ will want to climb into the bed too (at least at first). We have his old crib mattress ready to lay down on our floor in a ploy to keep him involved in a way that avoids 4 bodies in the bed. Halloween Update

What a great Halloween! CJ had a wonderful time trick or treating and visiting with Aunt Cece and Uncle Nick. The pictures above show the three day fun. Thursday we went to the pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins and get some apples. CJ had a great time playing on all the fun wooden equipment. Trick or treating was definitely quiet here in Newark. As you can see from the photo CJ was a fireman and Daddy was a fire truck. It was quite funny. There were not that many kids trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. It really made me sad to see such an awesome community event begin to disappear. Maybe it's just where we are though. Anyway, CJ still had fun and got lots of candy because people were trying hard to give it away. He walked over to Uncle Sami and Aunt Vicky's house and received extra special treats that he was very proud of and excited to eat.
