Summer


So this weekend was like summer here in Newark! We hit the 90s and broke the record a few days. On Saturday the University was having AG Day so we all went. CJ enjoyed seeing the animals and listening to the bands play. The very sleepy boy fell asleep on the hayride though. I think his favorite was the new UD ice cream!


On Sunday we went and bought him a pool for the backyard and he spent about an hour in and out of the pool. He watered all the trees and flowers. He looked just like PopPop going around to each thing with his little watering can.


On Monday we had to head to Philadelphia for an appointment. CJ loves the city and misses it a lot. However, we just realized that he is convinced that the Walt Whitman bridge in Philly is the Broadway bridge in Kansas City (that he's been over like 2x ever). He was quite upset that we wouldn't go over the bridge as he was certain PopPop, Nana, and Grandma were sure to be on the other side.


The picture is of CJ after he hugged Elmo at the zoo. I couldn't snap it fast enough, but he loved it. He's been talking about it for a week now. It may mean we need a trip to Sesame Place this summer.

Global Baby

He's getting so big!  It's hard to believe that Cooper is 2 1/2 months old.  We've been home for 2 whole months and he is just growing like a weed.  The first month he gained just over a pound and was still very small.  This last month he gained over 2 pounds.  He looks huge to us, although, he's still only in the 20th percentile for his age. What's more noticeable than his size is how social he is becoming.  While he is still a Mama's boy, he is delighted to be a little brother and grins from ear-to-ear at the sight of his brother and sister.  His other favorite activity is hanging onto Daddy's beard.  It's funny, but when he cries it sounds just like he's saying Mama. Fall Fun

Did summer really happen? Has it really been 3 1/2months since I lasted posted? We cannot believe how fast it has gone. Moving just takes a lot out of us especially now that we have two. Time seems to march by more and more quickly. I try desperately to soak up every available minute I can because the kids are growing and changing so much. Most of you know that we decided to have CJ go to Pre -K this year. He loves it and is doing so well. Each night we do homework from workbooks that Aunt Cece sent. Just like his Mama, CJ begs for extra homework- particularly Math. He loves addition, puzzles, and mazes. It will be interesting to see if that stays with him as he grows. He is slowly starting to read on his own. I haven't been challenging him as much as I probably should since he's not in kindergarten yet. He's such a funny boy who likes to tell jokes. Hello from Philly

Hello and Happy Holidays from the City of Brotherly Love! Its almost New Year's resolution time and one of mine is to maintain a blog for all our of friends and family who don't get to see our little guy on a daily basis (and for those of you that do too). CJ is ready for Christmas- although Santa is not his favorite as you can see. I'm not sure who is worse at peeking at packages though, CJ or Casey. We were too excited to wait so we've had a Christmas tree up since the weekend after Thanksgiving. We kept the unbreakable ornaments on the lower part of the tree, which has been good since he likes to take them off and throw them to his daddy. He's so smart and observant. I'm just amazed by him. He loves to learn and seems (to me) to be very mechanically minded since he can unscrew or take apart anything you put in front of him.
