Whew! What a long week. CJ and Daddy spent the week playing and getting into a routine until CJ ended up sick again with brochilitis and an ear infection. Mama, Daddy, and CJ spent two hours at the doctor on Friday and poor CJ was stuck with breathing treatments every 3-4 hours all weekend. He definitely has asthma so we're hoping he will grow out of it quickly. Even still, he managed to have a great Easter and of course, was spoiled by everyone. His Grandpa McGinnis and Grandma Becky had the Easter Bunny send him a basket with lots of fun stuff. Aunt Cece sent a fun package with lots of CJ's favorites including a dollar which he promptly unfolded and slid under the stereo with the rest of his money. (We can't figure out why he likes to do this, but he's stored up over $10 so far. The weird thing is it's only bills that go under there; any coin change he finds goes into his pink sing along pig that is supposed to hold huge plastic coins). Of course the Easter Bunny came and CJ immediately ran over and ate the ears of the bunny. Grandpa and Grandma sent lots of fun things including a flashlight shaped like a dog that barks and shines the light when you open his mouth. (Thanks, Mom! LOL). The best present by far though was Uncle Eric coming for Easter. CJ cuddled right up with him and apparently thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. It was nice to have family here. Easter's not yet done though because Uncle Johnny said the Easter Bunny visted them at Grandma Dee's house too so we'll celebrate a bit more this weekend. We miss everyone and can't wait to see you all soon.
P.S. The picture is of him opening the basket from Grandpa McGinnis and Grandma Becky.

Hello from Philly

Hello and Happy Holidays from the City of Brotherly Love! Its almost New Year's resolution time and one of mine is to maintain a blog for all our of friends and family who don't get to see our little guy on a daily basis (and for those of you that do too). CJ is ready for Christmas- although Santa is not his favorite as you can see. I'm not sure who is worse at peeking at packages though, CJ or Casey. We were too excited to wait so we've had a Christmas tree up since the weekend after Thanksgiving. We kept the unbreakable ornaments on the lower part of the tree, which has been good since he likes to take them off and throw them to his daddy. He's so smart and observant. I'm just amazed by him. He loves to learn and seems (to me) to be very mechanically minded since he can unscrew or take apart anything you put in front of him. He has an infectious grin and a laugh that reminds you what living is about. He likes to talk all time and he LOVES to dance. He's ju...

Mystic, CT

We had a great time in Mystic, CT last weekend for Father's Day. We spent Saturday at the Mystic Seaport, a little reanactment community right on the water. We even got to see a replica of the Amistad (the original was either scrapped or sunk). That part was neat, but very sad to see the conditions those men endured. CJ loved the water and kept trying to walk onto all the boats he saw (even the yachts that had just docked for lunch). He really enjoyed driving the ship. We then had lunch at a great little inn right on the water- Seaman's Inn. It was wonderful. On Sunday we went to Mystic Aquarium. CJ really loved it. His favorite was the buluga whales as you can see from the picture. He laughed and oohed and ahhed. It was a great weekend. Now we are just gearing up for our trip to Kansas City and for his birthday in a few weeks. Daddy is going on a guy's camp weekend next weekend with Uncle Sami so CJ and I are planning a trip to the zoo. We'll put up more pics then.

Big Kids

Ceirnan in her favorite outfit outside the ballet studio- leotard and overalls.  Someone is all ready to head off to Stephens.    CJ looking cool for school.  Ceirnan, who believes jutting your hip out is the coolest thing ever. Where did my babies go?  It's so hard to believe how big they are and how much they have grown in the last year.  Ceirnan is sprouting like a weed and towers over most her own age.  CJ doesn't have the height, but he is about the most mature young man I've ever met.  They are both so bright and excited to learn.  It makes me so happy seeing them together.  Typically, they share, they are polite to each other and they never make it through the day without at least two or three hugs and kisses for each other.  It makes my heart melt to see how much they truly enjoy spending time together.  Do not get me wrong- Ceirnan is too bossy for CJ and one of CJ's favorite phrases (which we h...
