It is so hard to believe that more than six months have gone by since we last updated the blog. What a crazy year. The kids are growing like weeds. They are both big kids now and it's hard to believe that the toddler years are behind them. The winter was filled with too many illnesses to count so we honestly spent most of our time behind closed doors trying to recover. I guess to start this off, I'll try to give a little update on the kids.

My is she getting big. She is our sassy girl and wants everyone to know it. That being said, she is still as sweet as can be. She adores her big brother and gets very upset if he leaves without hugs and kisses good-bye in the morning. I find it interesting that she really has no interest in being like CJ; she just likes to know he is around. She is smart as a whip and often says things that we cannot figure out how she knows. Her reply when asked is often, "I just taught myself." For such a Mama's girl, she is definitely independent as well. She still loves ballet... everything about it. Watching her face, when she is dancing or even watching someone else dance is like inviting the sunshine to fill you up. I hope she keeps that enthusiasm. She is starting to learn her letters and does a great job counting. Her hand continues to get stronger everyday and we are so grateful to Miss Krista, her occupational therapist. Her upcoming goals are to spend as much time riding her bike as possible and to get Mama and Daddy to let her take more dance lessons each week.

My little boy is growing up way to fast. He loves school... absolutely loves it. I keep trying to convince him that maybe we should try homeschooling, but so far to no avail. He is doing extremely well and is still his peaceful, quiet self. He loves Math and really enjoys writing as well. I love how much he has been using his imagination lately. He is gearing up for baseball and finished playing soccer in the fall. He "works out" at home all the time. He is determined to be an athlete. Luckily, he loves playing so he isn't putting too much pressure on himself so far. CJ is really getting into science and doing experiments. Poor thing has had an ear infection for almost a month now that they keep trying to clear up with different medicines. It's a wonder he can even hear at school. He has made some great friends in the neighborhood. It's fun to hear them running and playing outside. His best friend from school loves to stop in and play. Currently, CJ is working on a computer program called First in Math and his goal is to get as many stickers as can (questions correct). He is a bit competitive, but is so good natured that he always makes certain his other classmates are having fun and being included.
