Shy

We had a beautiful weekend out here this weekend. We're supposed to get a bit colder again later this week, but we are trying to enjoy it as much as possible. CJ spent much of the weekend outside and was pleased as punch about it. He really loves to chalk on the sidewalk so he was thrilled when Daddy wanted to do some work on the Jeep because CJ got to chalk for hours. We even got to go and get ice cream after Daddy was done. The pic above is actually when we got ice cream with Christy in Chicago, but you get the idea.

Saturday Mama had to go to the law school so Daddy took CJ to music class. This did not go over well. CJ proceeded to hide behind Case through most of the class when he wasn't running to the window and asking where Mama was. Even Miss Karen couldn't get him to help with his favorite game. Hopefully, next Saturday will go better. CJ is in to being shy now. He definitely realizes its an attention getter so he often acts shy even around us.

Work. CJ has also taken to telling me he is mad at me when I leave for work in the morning. He really enjoys Mama and Daddy being home together and constantly pulls stunts that he thinks will make Mama stay home. He tells me he won't give me hugs and will hide rather than going to the car.

This Thursday is Grandma Dee's birthday so Sunday we went over with cupcakes to celebrate. CJ was so excited. He kept saying Ta Da and encouraging everyone to take a cupcake. He misses going over there a lot and cried when we finally had to go home. He kept asking if we could stay and running upstairs to sleep on Jessi's bed. He calls her "my Jessi". Then he cried when Johnny wouldn't come home with us. All in all I'd say he had a great time even if he was sad when we left.

CJ is constantly asking when we will go home to our "City" home. He seems to like Delaware, but is very focused on getting back to the city. We find it odd that he remembers so much about it. He is always asking to go to our favorite breakfast spot, Morning Glory, and points out pictures that look like home. He always gets excited when Little Bill comes on and he sees Philly. It makes me sad sometimes, but I know this summer he will love the backyard even if it's not in his "City" home.

Hello from Philly

Hello and Happy Holidays from the City of Brotherly Love! Its almost New Year's resolution time and one of mine is to maintain a blog for all our of friends and family who don't get to see our little guy on a daily basis (and for those of you that do too). CJ is ready for Christmas- although Santa is not his favorite as you can see. I'm not sure who is worse at peeking at packages though, CJ or Casey. We were too excited to wait so we've had a Christmas tree up since the weekend after Thanksgiving. We kept the unbreakable ornaments on the lower part of the tree, which has been good since he likes to take them off and throw them to his daddy. He's so smart and observant. I'm just amazed by him. He loves to learn and seems (to me) to be very mechanically minded since he can unscrew or take apart anything you put in front of him. He has an infectious grin and a laugh that reminds you what living is about. He likes to talk all time and he LOVES to dance. He's ju...

Philly Boy

Here is our Philly boy the night we took him to his concert. He was telling us all about the people walking by as we ate a quick snack at a local pub. He was being a bit bossy insistant that we soak up the sounds and people as quickly as he did. He was not impressed with our apathy and definitely reminded Mama to look around and enjoy the atmosphere. While I am certain he will enjoy the backyard, I think he too will receive quite a culture shock when we arrive in good old Newark later this month. Currently he is running through the house shouting box as the continue to pile up. It is amazing how much we have just donated though. We're ruthless and I think he is concerned that his toys will go out as he has been hiding a toy here and there as we pack. He just made a good friend across the street and I'm sure he'll miss hanging out with her, but I think he already met a new little girl whose father works at the University. Last night we went to Old City to grab a bite...

Update

No major news to update. We're all on pins and needles waiting for the baby to arrive. At this point, it looks like we will definitely have a little one sometime next week if not earlier. Today is my last day of work. I'm definitely ready as I am starting to need more rest and am feeling some major shifting in the baby. Last night Pop Pop arrived though so it definitely brought some excitement to the house. CJ was showered with gifts from Aunt Cherie and Aunt CeCe, which he has been certain to remind us are the gifts for big brothers! He is getting excited at the thought that the baby is coming home soon. Of course, he's even more excited that Pop Pop is here for a long time and that his Nana and Grandma will be out soon too. We will try to keep you all updated when things start progressing. Just wish us luck!
