Coming Home


We are getting ready to head back to Kansas City for the weekend. It should be a nice time. CJ is getting excited that his birthday is coming up. He keeps pointing out birthday cakes in his books and blowing out the candles. He has also memorized all the people in the photo album and points them out by name. (We'll see if he'll actually say the names when we get there though.) He is still shy about talking when others are around. This week he's taken to teaching Curious George his ABCs, which he sings over and over again- the tune and some of the letters are right. LMNOP is always in the right place. He's still the sweetest most sensitive soul and he really knows how to make people feel better already.

Thanks guys for coming out to see us. We had a lot of fun seeing Abby, CJ, and Evan together, but we never got a picture of all of them at once that I can think of. Oh well. I guess we will have to have grandma do some photoshopping. But really, it was great to see you guys!

Hello from Philly

Hello and Happy Holidays from the City of Brotherly Love! Its almost New Year's resolution time and one of mine is to maintain a blog for all our of friends and family who don't get to see our little guy on a daily basis (and for those of you that do too). CJ is ready for Christmas- although Santa is not his favorite as you can see. I'm not sure who is worse at peeking at packages though, CJ or Casey. We were too excited to wait so we've had a Christmas tree up since the weekend after Thanksgiving. We kept the unbreakable ornaments on the lower part of the tree, which has been good since he likes to take them off and throw them to his daddy. He's so smart and observant. I'm just amazed by him. He loves to learn and seems (to me) to be very mechanically minded since he can unscrew or take apart anything you put in front of him. Update

No major news to update. We're all on pins and needles waiting for the baby to arrive. At this point, it looks like we will definitely have a little one sometime next week if not earlier. Today is my last day of work. I'm definitely ready as I am starting to need more rest and am feeling some major shifting in the baby. Last night Pop Pop arrived though so it definitely brought some excitement to the house. CJ was showered with gifts from Aunt Cherie and Aunt CeCe, which he has been certain to remind us are the gifts for big brothers! He is getting excited at the thought that the baby is coming home soon. Of course, he's even more excited that Pop Pop is here for a long time and that his Nana and Grandma will be out soon too. We will try to keep you all updated when things start progressing. Just wish us luck!

Spring

Newest update. We're all upside. No, things are going okay. Casey and CJ seem to be doing well together. They are quite the little travelers and come out on the train twice a week to meet Mommy. CJ is missing his Grandma Dee and his Uncle Johnny though. When he gets in the care he often goes Dee...Dee...Dee... Hopefully, we'll head over there this weekend. The picture was taken by Laurie at Grandma Dee's house. He is doing great though. He's talking a lot more and he loves to dance. He's got some great moves too. I'll try to catch some thing weekend and post the pictures. He loves Sesame Street and will give you the evil eye if you interrupt him. What else?
